Pitti Uomo is one of the world's most important platforms for menswear and provides a never-ending stream of street style. In light of the overwhelming inspiration, and the fact that fashion is universal, I've rounded up a few of my favorite looks along with some of the style cues I love for my own wardrobe.
ACCESSORIES ARE KEY
From silk scarves and brilliant brooches to stunning sunglasses and rings, nearly every style star incorporated one or more accessory into their looks.
By now you know how much I love accessories myself and after seeing so many amazing uses of them over the past few days, I am feeling more inspired than ever to layer them on.
TOP IT WITH A HAT
As a lover of hats, I was so thrilled to see more than a few outstanding examples of how to incorporate a timeless topper into your look. From berets to fedoras and everything in between, these looks all showcase the power a great hat has to finish a look.
GO MONOCHROME
Everyone knows that a monochromatic look has the power to instantly make us look put-together, taller and slimmer. All things considered though, my favorite thing about this sartorial fail safe is how it makes my outfits look thoughtful and purposeful with very little effort.
In fact, when I'm either short on time or don't know what to wear, I always start with a base of similar shades. From there, I'm able to add just about any accessories and shoes and still look put-together.
These three examples of monochromatic looks showcase these points beautifully.
TURTLENECK + BLAZER = INSTANT OUTFIT
One of my favorite looks is a turtleneck layered under a structured blazer or suit and Pitti Uomo was full of this chic combination!
Nearly every best dressed guest wore this combination at least once and made the look their own with accessories and footwear.
FIELD JACKETS ARE CLASSIC
I love field jackets and after purchasing a few over the years, I upgraded to a Barbour and haven't looked back since. Not only is it the perfect shade of green, but it keeps me cozy all winter long and 100% dry throughout rain, sleet any snow.
TAILORING IS KEY
Above every other trend or statement on display at Pitti Uomo, none stood out more than tailoring. Whether the look was experimental or classic, every eye-catching look fit perfectly.
One thing that really stood out to me was how impeccably everyone's pants were tailored to hit the ankle at just the right spot to showcase socks and footwear alike.
