Happy Friday! Nothing too exciting or out of the ordinary to report on this sunny Friday but I am happy to share that this week was filled with plenty of walks with Maddie, lots of sunshine and a healthy dose of work. I love waking up early during the summer and this week was particularly wonderful for that.

This weekend I'm hoping to do some yard work so that we can get everything ready for the gorgeous weather that we'll have the next few months, and maybe some antiquing - what more do you need? In the meantime, here are some of the things that have been on my radar this week.

CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK | When I was living in New York, plenty of things about the city made life less than easy, but those were all forgiven the second she came alive for Christmas. There's something so special about seeing the city all lit up for the holidays and this round-up of some of the best things to do for Christmas is perfect.

LILY ALDRIDGE'S HOUSE | I love old homes and this tour of Lily Aldridge's historic home is lovely.

MASSIMO DUTTI VIDEO | This campaign video for the new Massimo Dutti collection is beautiful and so inspiring!

WHY DO ALL NEWS ANCHORS HAVE THE SAME HAIR | There is no denying that hair is a key piece of our personal style pies and it's so wonderful to see how people showcase their style through their hair on any given day. When it comes to a professional setting though, sometimes that freedom can be stifled and this article about why female news anchors all have the same hair is definitely worth a read.

5 Striped Shirt Outfits Perfect For August

The striped tee is one of my top closet essentials. I love that I can wear this classic topper all year long just by swapping my bottoms, shoes and accessories and layering up or down. I also love that despite changing trends, the striped tee always stands the test of time. In honor of this wardrobe wonder, today I'm sharing 5 easy striped shirt outfits that are perfect for August. The best part about these looks is that you can easily wear them into fall and winter with a few small tweaks.

1. THE UPDATED AUDREY HEPBURN

First up is one of my favorite combinations. A classic striped tee, simple black skirt and ballet flats work year-round, but the addition of a straw hat makes it perfect for August. What's even better, you can easily transition this look into fall by swapping the straw hat for a wool one and adding tights and/or ballet flats.

2. CASUAL FRIDAY

This next look is perfect for a casual office, casual Friday or polished weekend look. I love the mix of a casual tee and tailored pants paired with sneakers. The red lip and tousled hair make everything feel a little more special, and you could easily swap the sneakers for loafers, ballet flats or ankle boots to change it up.

3. FARMER'S MARKET CHIC

I love how easily a striped tee can be dressed up or down to suit your lifestyle and this look is a perfect example of that. The wide stripe and relaxed shorts make this a perfect weekend look. Paired with sandals or ballet flats this look can easily take you from brunch to a casual park stroll effortlessly.

4. RELAXED ELEGANCE

This next look is one that will never feel dated. The striped tee and black pants look polished and create the perfect base for any accessories or shoes. In this case, the denim jacket adds some warmth and interest while the ballet flats add a pop of color. The classic bag ties everything together.

5. OFFICE READY

Last but not least, if striped button downs are more your style this look is perfect for work or a dressier weekend event. I love the rich blue and white striped top and white pants with simple, matching accessories that keep things polished.

What I Packed For 8 Days In Maine | 1 Carry-On

Before I left for Maine in early August, I filmed a quick packing video of everything I brought and how I organized it all in my carry-on. Below, I've listed all of the clothes, shoes and accessories I brought along with my video of how I organized everything into my new Away suitcase that I was very graciously gifted. Also, I think it's important to note that I was gifted this suitcase after I mentioned it in a few blog posts, but this post is not sponsored by Away. That said, I am very happy with it so far and if you're interested in a more in-depth review, let me know and I'll do one after I've had it for a bit. In my next video I'll be sharing a few of my outfits and some clips of beautiful Maine but in the meantime, thank you so much for watching!

Brand Spotlight: Margaux

Early one morning a few years ago, I was sitting at my desk in NYC going through my usual media monitoring, when I came across an article outlining an exciting new brand. The brand was Margaux and co-founders Alexa and Sarah were disrupting the shoe industry by offering made to measure ballet flats.

As a lover of these classic shoes I was instantly interested. Not only did they look great (supple leather, classic colors and the perfect small stacked heel) but they were also surprisingly affordable.

Since then, I've been following these two inspiring entrepreneurs as they've hit countless milestones and continued to grow their brand.

I just love everything they're doing and want to share them with you today.

Beyond being inspired by their drive and impressive success, I've also had a pair of their flats on my wish list for a few years now and I hope to finally pick up a pair for fall/winter.

In the meantime, this is a great interview with Alexa and Sarah, you can follow Margaux here on Instagram, and below I've outlined a few of my favorite items.

"We make modern shoes for the modern woman: Ballerina flats handcrafted of Italian leather, and designed for the perfect fit."
