February Mood Board

Now that February is here, I've put together a little mood board to help me visualize what I hope to get out of this short month.

This month I'm loving every shade of orange, yellow and pale green with bases of navy, cream and white. I'm finding this color palette to be endlessly soothing and invigorating in the same breath and I hope to harness that energy into a very productive month.

Also, following my participation in the Winter 10x10 Challenge, I felt inspired to narrow down my wardrobe even further and I'm using this transitional period between winter and spring to really narrow in on the items I want to keep around.

Since I live in the south, we're already starting to get some warmer temps and they have me dreaming of sun soaked afternoons filled with trips to the beach and airy layers.

To play into this vibe I'm loving navy blazers and silk camis paired with worn-in jeans and simple slides. To top it all off - the perfect pair of classic shades.

Top 5 Things You Don't Need In Your Closet

Today's video is all about the top 5 things you don't need in your closet. Eliminating these things will make for an easier closet clean-out and a more stylish 2018. Below, I've outlined these 5 items in more detail but you can also watch my corresponding video here or at the end.

Happy Friday and happy February!

As we enter the shortest month of the year, I'm very much looking forward to packing a ton of content in a very small window. This week, I've been busy planning, outlining and filming my next few videos and I'm so excited to share them with you.

I've also introduced some new products into my hair routine that I'm really loving and can hopefully recommend soon - I like to really use a product for at least a few weeks before I recommend it.

Also, despite the cooler temps today we're finally having some incredibly beautiful weather here and as someone directly affected by the weather I couldn't be happier. So, as we enter the weekend here are some of the things I've been loving this week.

CALL ME BY YOUR NAME INTERIORS | If you saw my January Favorites then you know how much I loved "Call Me By Your Name." Beyond the impeccable story telling, heartbreakingly authentic performances and the stunning soundtrack, the interiors and set design of the film were critical to the movement of the story. Acting as another character in the film, the Perlman's villa perfectly lent itself to the excitement, fear and uncertainty that accompanies an authentic, unstoppable human connection and this round-up of the decor is definitely worth perusing.

MERYL STREEP IN HER 20'S | Like everyone, I adore Meryl Streep and this insightful article aims to figure out if Meryl was always Meryl, or if her 20's were filled with the same uncertainty and failure that many of us experience during this difficult decade of life.

TOM HANKS TO PLAY MR. ROGERS | Earlier this week, it was announced that Tom Hanks will play Mr. Rogers in an upcoming biopic and I couldn't be more excited!

ROMANTIC NEW ENGLAND GETAWAYS | As you know, I love New England and this round-up of 12 romantic New England getaways has me craving a Valentine's Day escape so badly.

Style Inspiration: Massimo Dutti

One of my favorite ways to get style inspiration is by perusing the lookbooks, product shots and online catalogs of my favorite retailers. I love seeing how things are mixed and matched and always take special note of the hair and makeup looks that have been paired with each outfit. I find it endlessly inspiring and I want to share that inspiration with you.

So, today's post kicks off a mini-series that I will be adding to from time to time. Each post will include a brand spotlight complete with inspiration pics and some of the looks I hope to recreate as a result - all using items I already have in my closet.

Today's feature is on a recent Massimo Dutti campaign that featured images of the sea coupled with relaxed separates and wind-kissed cheeks. As a lover of all things nautical, these images instantly transported me to a seaside town on the cusp of spring and have me longing for fisherman sweaters and salty air.
