ON MY RADAR no 20

Happy Friday and happy Christmas weekend! I am absolutely tingling with the excitement of the season (and also from working on my hands and knees the past few weeks to get our floors done lol). As we head into the final stretch before the big show, Jason and I are putting the finishing touches on our floors (we should be able to get a tree on the 23rd!) and slowly and carefully moving furniture back in. I can't even put into words how nerve-wracking it is to potentially scratch and undo all of our hard work so we are really taking our time with this one. In addition to finally finishing our little restoration project, this week I've also wrapped up my Christmas shopping both literally and figuratively - you can see my gift-wrapping video here. I've also begun prepping the rest of our house for family and adding some Christmas decor here and there - I'm sharing some of that in my last vlogmas going live on either Saturday or Sunday. I've also been planning out some of the content I want to bring you in 2018 and I am getting so excited to ring in the new year! In the meantime, here are a few of the things I've been loving this week.

THE CUTEST HOLIDAY AD THIS YEAR | First up is by far the cutest Christmas ad that I've seen in a while. This adorable advert for none other than ALDI featuring Kevin The Carrot is worth the 1 minute watch for a much-needed dose of clever cuteness.

OCEAN'S 8 | By now I'm sure you've seen the much talked about trailer for Ocean's 8 but just in case you haven't I highly recommend giving it a peak. I've never been a huge fan of the "Ocean" franchise but I have to admit that the all female cast with stand-outs and personal faves like Sandra Bullock, Kate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter has me itching to see it in theaters.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AIRBNB'S IN EVERY STATE | I love Airbnb and Jason and I have used it almost exclusively since it first came on the scene. This round-up of the most beautiful Airbnb listings in every state has me itching for a road trip through the US - Connecticut is my personal fave.

THE BEST WINE PAIRINGS FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS DINNER + COOKIES | With Christmas dinner practically upon us, I love this round-up of the best wines to pair with each meal and of course cookie that you may serve

FRAMA ST. PAUL EAU DE PARFUM | Last but not least, I recently discovered this newly launched fragrance line that has me weak at the knees with it's chic, minimal packaging. I was particularly blown away by this gorgeous video the brand put together

Classic + Inexpensive Wrapping

I love gift-giving and a large part of the enjoyment for me comes from wrapping each gift with care. Rather than go broke buying expensive wrapping paper, ribbon, bags and tags that only cover a few of my gifts, I like to opt for inexpensive kraft paper, satin ribbon and decorations that I buy in bulk for only a few dollars. In this tutorial, I'm laying it all out for you with a step-by-step guide that you can watch below or here

Last-Minute Gift Guide

Can you believe that Christmas is less than a week away? I feel like this month has absolutely flown by and there never seems to be enough time to get it all done. With our floors taking longer than expected, I've been so busy getting my home in order for the coming celebrations that I still need a few last-minute gifts. So, with budget (nothing here is over $100) and creativity in mind, here are 5 great last-minute gifts that I'm considering this season.

No. 1 | First up is a great gift that works just as well for family as it does for hostesses. All you need is a great bottle of wine and a festive ribbon. When gifting wine I like to pick a bottle that I personally love and then include a little note about why I think the gift receiver will love it too - bonus points if the reason has a sentimental tie. Also, another think I love to do is gift a bottle of wine with a gift card to a great restaurant in town. That way, you gift your loved ones with a wonderful experience and fun indulgence that they can enjoy either before or after the dinner.

No. 2 | Next up is a "gift certificate" for pet sitting. I love the idea of this gift for family and friends that live nearby because pet sitting costs can really add up and by offering your service for free, you free up the burden of them needing to ask or coordinate costly kennels.

No. 3 | Need a gift for someone who loves to cook? A gift card to a meal subscription service and a cute appliance of some sort like this rolling pin make a great gift! I love Blue Apron, Home Chef and Hello Fresh for affordable, high-quality options.

No. 4 | This next gift is one that I personally would LOVE to receive. For only $90 you can gift the budding photographer in your life with an online masterclass by none other than Annie Liebovitz. If photography doesn't hit the mark, you can choose from a remarkable array of classes by some of the top people in their fields.

No. 5 | Last but not least is a selection of homemade cookies that have been beautifully wrapped. My family has given this as a gift countless times over the years and they are always a hit - who doesn't love cookies? What I like to do is a pick a few of my favorite recipes and then make huge batches so that I can create customized cookie boxes or tins for everyone in my life.
