Our Trip To Maine Part II & Another Fall Capsule Outfit

Happy Friday! Today I'm excited to share the second set of pics from our trip to Maine - we didn't get a chance to shoot the third outfit I wore so I'll put together a little collage for you soon. To suit the slightly cooler weather, I pulled out my favorite L.L. Bean fisherman sweater and was comfortable all day.

I've mentioned this sweater before but I think it bares repeating that I could not live without it. In fact, if I could I would wear it day in and day out without ever growing tired of it. Made from super soft cotton, this fisherman is the perfect blend of classic and casual and keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the spring.

For the rest of my outfit I layered a plaid shirt and navy blazer so that I could add or remove a piece as the temperature fluctuated throughout the day. On bottom I wore my new favorite jeans from Madewell and added a crossbody, hat and chelsea boots.

Capsule Pieces: Ralph Lauren plaid shirt, L.L. Bean Fisherman Sweater, Madewell jeans

Outerwear: Brooks Brothers navy blazer

Accessories: Green Fedora

Purse: Louis Vuitton crossbody

Shoes: Cole Haan chelsea boots

$70 Cashmere?! Great Cashmere At Every Price Point

This morning it is actually chilly here in Charleston. Not just slightly chilly either. We're talking full on sweater weather! To commemorate this influx of cooler weather I have rounded up the best cashmere sweaters at different price points.

If you've been around here before then it should come as no surprise that I love cashmere. I love how soft and luxurious it is, I love that it lasts a really long time when cared for properly, and I love how cozy it is without being frumpy. What I don't love, is the often high price tag that comes along with it. So, today I'm sharing some fantastic options beginning at just $70!

$70

At just $69.90 (plus $30 off every $200 with the code THANKS) Uniqlo is one of the best cashmere providers around. Not only is their quality superior, but the cuts and feel of their sweaters rival much higher alternatives.

$90

Halogen is a new to me brand found at Nordstrom. I have been perusing their items recently in preparation for winter and can't get over how reasonable their cashmere is! The sweater linked below is only $90 and comes in an array of colors.

$100

I LOVE Everlane's cashmere. Since popping onto the scene, Everlane has quickly become one of my favorite retailers for well-made, reasonably priced items. What's even better is that they recently lowered the price of their classic cashmere crews for a deal that truly can't be beat. If you're looking to make a new cashmere addition to your wardrobe I highly recommend you start here.

$130-$160

Another favorite of mine for high quality cashmere that won't break the bank is J. Crew. Beyond their excellent quality and reasonable price points, I love that J. Crew has sales constantly - who doesn't love a bargain?! Going on right now is one of those sales which can give you an additional 30-50% off the sweaters below with the code SHOPNOW.

Do you have any cashmere sweaters that you love and wear constantly? I'd love to know some of your favorite brands in the comments below, and I hope you have a wonderful Thursday.

Until next time,

The Plaid Midi: 37 Piece Fall Capsule Wardrobe Outfit No. 7

Happy Tuesday and first day of November! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and fun Halloween. Today's capsule combination is just a wee bit festive to signal the unofficial countdown to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

To keep the plaid midi casual, I paired it with a simple cashmere crew and ballet flats. To add some interest, I added a simple clutch, statement bracelet and fun fedora.

Until next time,

Our Trip To Maine Part 1 & A Fall Capsule Wardrobe Outfit

Happy Friday! Today I'm excited to share one of my fall capsule wardrobe outfits from our recent trip to Maine. Even though it's no surprise that I love Maine (Jason is a Mainer and we were married there last year!), I was still giddy beyond belief that we would be visiting in the fall - even if it was only for three days.

When we first booked this trip, we were anticipating that it would be COLD. Instead, we lucked out with perfect, almost warm weather that was still crisp enough for layers -a.k.a perfect blazer weather.

Needless to say, I took no time wearing one of my favorite blazers the first full day that we were there. To compliment the neutral herringbone of this vintage Ralph Lauren jacket, I kept my base layers in complimentary shades of blue with a simple tee and jeans.

For accessories I kept things simple and classic with a fall themed silk scarf, belt and clutch. For footwear I wore my incredibly comfortable chelsea boots that you can see in my packing post here

All-in-all, I couldn't have been happier with this look and will definitely be wearing it again once it gets cooler here in Charleston. Not only was it super comfortable - after all it was essentially just a t-shirt and jeans! - but it was also polished enough to keep me feeling appropriate and ready for everything from a simple breakfast to cozy dinner out.

Capsule Pieces: J. Crew navy long sleeve tee, Dark Wash Skinny Jeans from LOFT

Outerwear: Ralph Lauren Herringbone blazer

Accessories: Massimo Dutti belt, vintage silk scarf

Purse: Louis Vuitton clutch

Shoes: Cole Haan chelsea boots

Until next time,

Audrey
