Happy Friday! Let me begin by apologizing for my absence this week. Since returning home I have unfortunately been sick and have been down for the count until today. That said, I'm slowly but surely feeling better and am excited to share today's post. As a lover of denim, I thought it was high time I shared the 5 pieces of denim that I always have on hand and that I think every classic closet needs. So, without further ado let's hop into the pieces.
No denim round-up would be complete without a denim jacket. The perfect layering piece for in-between weather, I have one in both a MEDIUM-DARK WASH and LIGHT WASH and wear them both constantly.
Next up is the denim skirt. There's something so classic and versatile about a denim skirt that has made it a staple in my closet for years. Whether I pair it with a light sweater, blazer and loafers in the early fall or a flowy blouse and sandals in the summer, the denim skirt never disappoints. While I prefer mine with clean edges and a mid-length in either a WHITE DENIM or MEDIUM WASH DENIM, the slightly distressed options on the market these days are quite cute.
If I could only pick one pair of jeans for my wardrobe it would undoubtedly be a simple pair of dark wash, slim fit jeans. This undeniable closet staple is one of my 10 essentials that are always in my closet and I wear them constantly. Not only do they look great on everyone but they go with everything and can easily be dressed up or down - making them the perfect pair for day to night, year-round wear.
Another undeniable closet classic is a great pair of white jeans. While these can be difficult to find, (THIS IS MY CURRENT GO-TO PAIR) once you do you can wear them year-round. Personally, I love to wear mine with ballet flats and a light sweater in the spring, t-shirt and sandals in the summer, a cozy cashmere sweater, blazer and riding boots in the fall and chunky turtlenecks and chic boots in the winter.
Last but not least is a great pair of denim shorts. My go-to's are a CLASSIC MEDIUM WASH PAIR that I wear constantly throughout the spring and summer. I love wearing these with everything from sandals to ballet flats and a range of light-weight tops for an effortless combination.
Until next time,
Audrey
