My Handbag Collection - The Only 6 Bags I Need

As I've shared countless times before, a core selection of high-quality items can really take you the distance. When thoughtfully chosen, these pieces ultimately all come together to make your wardrobe work for you rather than against you. In light of this philosophy I thought today I's share my purse collection.

Much like my overall wardrobe, my handbag collection is carefully curated and only consists of the items I truly love. In total, I have 6 bags that I wear regularly and have taken care to collect them over the last 5+ years. Below, I've linked each of my handbags along with why I love them as well as my corresponding video.

1 Crossbody

If you've seen any of my outfits here or on my Instagram, then you've surely seen my go-to crossbody.

I adore this bag for hands-free carrying and wear it more frequently than any of my others. In addition to the lovely, aged leather this bag is also super light making it easy to carry all day without a sore back or sore shoulders.

I scored this lovely purse on eBay a few years ago and couldn't be happier with how it's held up. On a side note, I am working on a post all about how I shop for vintage and second hand items so be on the lookout for that soon.

In the meantime, I'll say that I purchased this purse from a trusted seller and tried to authenticate it as much as possible myself before purchasing.

1 Clutch

Another bag that I wear constantly is my clutch. Another eBay purchase from a few years ago, this clutch is so great because it's lightweight and easy to carry so I don't grow tired of carrying it like I have other clutches in the past. That said though, I wouldn't wear this bag on a day I know I will need to use my hands a lot. That way I don't need to worry about finding a safe place to set it down.

4 Satchels

In total I have four satchels that I wear regularly depending on my needs for the day. My first satchel is a classic Dooney & Bourke satchel that I love for every day wear. Not only has the purse held up incredibly well but the leather has gotten better with time. Next up, is my beloved vintage Gucci Kelly bag. The only downside of this bag is because it's  so structured, and can really only be carried using the top handle I tend to reserve it only for very special outfits.

My third satchel is from J. Crew and is one of two black bags that I own. I love this bag because the almost pebbled leather has held up beautifully (even after almost daily wear in the city!). All-in-all, J. Crew offers wonderful leather wear and I highly recommend waiting for one of their amazing sales to get the best bang for your buck. My last purse is like my Gucci one in that I tend to reserve it for more formal looks but I still love how luxe and classic it feels. I got this purse from Brooks Brothers years ago and despite regular wear it still looks brand new.

Before I go I'd love to know what makes up your handbag collection! Do you have a few bags that you wear regularly? Let me know in the comments below and I hope you have a great rest of the day.

Until next time,

Audrey
