As blogs seem to have decreased in popularity in the last few years, and I’ve dedicated more time to my YouTube channel and a few exciting behind the scenes projects, I’ve almost completely stopped writing blog posts and I’d like that to change. I’ll be trying to share more consistently here in the form of outfit pictures, wish list planning, highlights of things I’m loving and even an upcoming mini series focusing on closet staples and the things I look for in each. Today though, I’m sharing a special highlight of something I’ve loved for years and have recently started wearing and craving more of - mother of pearl.
I love this pearly material for it’s beautiful color and often shimmery look and I love how it instantly adds light to any outfit every time I wear it. It’s a material that I’ve sought out in various forms as my style has developed but I most distinctly remember a few years ago I had a watch (that I’ve since parted ways with) that was gold plated with a simple link bracelet and the most gorgeous, delicate and round mother of pearl face.
From there, I added a bold statement ring with a mother of pearl design of my zodiac sign that I still wear and love so much that I would love to add a solid gold version to my jewelry box eventually. I’ve also had a gorgeous mother of pearl and rock crystal locket on a long gold chain on my wish list for years and have gone back and forth with the iconic Van Cleef & Arpels necklace in mother of pearl on my wish list - it’s currently off my wish list. Most recently I’ve been exploring adding a pair of mother of pearl sunglasses to my wardrobe and maybe even another mother of pearl necklace to my wish list.
