As you know, I very rarely, if ever, make impulsive purchases. Even though this definitely wasn’t always the case, I have worked the last few years to restructure and rewire my thinking and the results have been wonderful.
Rather than constantly wasting money and time on things I only wear a few times, I now take my time to make a purchase and make sure that it’s well thought out and will work with not only the rest of my closet, but also my personal style. One of the things that has helped me the most in all of this is to keep a running wish list, and not waver from it, and this blue sweater is my newest purchase from that list. Sadly, I think this color is sold out now but they have lots of other pretty colors still - I personally really love the pink and red.
Even though light blue is in my year-long color palette, I wasn’t sure how often I would wear it in a sweater so I didn’t have one in my wardrobe. The longer winter wore on though, the more I found myself wishing I had a brighter option that could lift the dreary weather so I picked it up. Long story shirt, I couldn’t be happier. It’s the loveliest color that instantly revives my other cold weather pieces, plus it’s light enough to wear in early spring as well.
Here, I’ve paired it with my lighter wash jeans, cap toe pumps (because I love them, but I’ve also worn this with boots), printed scarf and brown leather jacket. I finished it off with my round sunglasses and didn’t carry a purse - just my wallet. As the weather warms up a little more, I’m excited to wear this sweater with a simple skirt and light chiffon silk scarf. I think my polka dot one would be perfect!
