Today's post is all about my summer capsule makeup collection. All-in-all, this routine is super simple and takes about 5 minutes each morning - when I'm not talking through it all for a video of course. Plus, it keeps me looking and feeling put-together all day despite the heat, and allows my skin to breathe which is always a must in this southern humidity.
Below, I've outlined each product that I use along with a corresponding video so that you can see exactly how I apply everything. That's not all though! My routine in the summer is low-maintenance and lightweight. To achieve a flawless base without a full coverage foundation I start with the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. Not only does this primer make my makeup stay all day, but it also minimizes redness and pores so that I need less makeup overall. Once I've applied my primer I go in with a light dusting of mineral powder. I have a few that I really like but right now I'm using the BareMinerals Original Foundation in Golden Medium. I've been applying it with the EcoTools Powder Brush for a lightweight finish that gives me just enough coverage without ever looking cakey.
Next, I add some color to my cheeks with either the Glossier Cloud Paints or BareMinerals All Over Face Color in Faux Tan applied with the Sigma F35 brush. I set it all with a light dusting of BareMinerals Mineral Veil for an airbrushed look.
Once I've added some color onto my cheeks, I move onto eyes by filling in my brows with the Anastasia Brow Wiz and Clear Brow Gel. Last but not least, I curl my lashes with my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler and apply a lash primer and mascara. In lieu of the DiorShow Primer I've been using and loving the L'Oreal Voluminous Primer and couldn't be happier with it! For mascara I rotate between the DiorShow Waterproof and a sample of the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes - both in black.
