Happy Friday! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week?
Like always, time seems to be flying by but I am so excited to spend a few days with my family and officially kick off the holiday season.
This week I filmed some videos and planned some things for the coming weeks that I can't wait to share - including an updated Thanksgiving lookbook of outfits you probably already have sitting in your closet (it will be up on Sunday).
After all, who wants to run around trying to find a new outfit when there's so much more to do for the big day? In the meantime though, here are some of the things that I've been loving this week.
WHY IS MY LIFE SO HARD | I only recently started getting into podcasts and since Jason introduced me to it, "Freakonomics" has quickly become a favorite. Recently, we listened to an old episode that discussed why we each think we have it harder than the other. It was a wonderfully balanced discussion (like all his episodes are) and I felt it was particularly appropriate with Thanksgiving around the corner. Too often we can get caught up in the day-to-day that we forget to reflect on just how lucky we are.
7 VIOLIN CONCERTOS IN 38 SECONDS | Next, I have a very brief video (38 seconds to be exact!) that I've watched over and over again since it was posted. As a music lover I was first drawn to the video by nothing more than the title but I stayed for the beautifully shot imagery and exquisite composition. Plus, I love the idea of joining different pieces for a cohesive presentation.
THE ORGANIZED HOME | As the holidays arrive, Jason and I are planning on hosting some family in our guest room and having everyone over for various festivities so I'm working to get everything as organized as possible. To help me smooth out the places I'm unsure of, I ordered this book by Remodelista and couldn't be more excited to receive it.
HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDES | Last but not least, I've been working hard the past few weeks to put together detailed, thoughtful gift guides for everyone on my list and I was happy to finally share those this week. In case you missed it, I posted gift guides for her and for him under $100, along with comprehensive galleries here and here.
