New In: Classic Camel Coat From The Curated

Beyond being run by the sweetest & incredibly inspiring woman, The Curated offers a carefully curated selection of luxe staples that are designed and crafted to last. In their own words, “The Curated is a carefully sourced collection of timeless high quality staples that come collectively together under one roof.” This Scandinavian based brand focuses on sustainable luxury with a focus on minimal elegance and work closely with vertical mills to create luxurious staples that are affordable - and well below traditional retail of other brands.

After discovering the brand, I reached out to the founder, Nicola to congratulate her on her beautiful brand. We chatted for a bit (seriously don’t hesitate to reach out to her, she’s fantastic!) and after I shared that her coat was exactly what I had been looking for, and had been moved to the top of my wishlist, she very graciously offered to send me one. I am overwhelmed by her generosity and after having owned this beauty for a few weeks, I can say with certainty that the quality, design and materials far exceed the price point. You can shop my coat here and read more about sizing below.

One of my favorite ways to wear a camel coat is against a monochromatic back drop like this all black outfit featuring a simple, scoop neck tee, timeless wool pants and cap toe pumps to break it all up. I kept my accessories simple and wore my everyday essentials which include my Ruff’s signet ring, Mejuri diamond necklace, Mejuri “Dome Hoops” and JACY watch.

Winter Outfit Planning | A Look I’ll Be Wearing All Season Long

Even though the official first day of winter is still a few weeks away, it’s been consistently chilly here in Charleston and I’ve already started to incorporate some of my winter essentials into my fall capsule. I won’t have time to share my full winter capsule until after the holidays, but I will be pulling out a few more essentials before Jason and I head up to the Cape for Christmas.

I’ll share the tweaks I’m making and a few of the items I’ve been adding to my fall capsule in my next OOTW video, but in the meantime here is a look I plan on wearing all throughout the winter. Given that I live in a pretty mild climate I won’t need too many heavy pieces to get me through but I am looking forward to a clean color palette with a few pops here and there and a few tried and true favorites that I come back to year after year. Also, I can get by with simple flats and ankle boots but you can easily swap in some chic riding boots or knee high boots if you live somewhere much colder.

The look here and the inspiration for much of my winter wardrobe is an old favorite that consists of a classic turtleneck and slim, timeless trousers. For shoes, I’ve been loving my Vaneli ‘Aliz’ pumps more than usual and I especially love the way they look with an all black outfit - so chic and effortless!

For my accessories, I’ve been keeping things super simple all season long and will likely continue this trend into the winter as well. Even though I love statement jewelry, I’ve been slowly sorting through my small collection and editing things down to my absolute favorites - the pieces that I’ve continually reached for over the years - and parting with the rest.

This recent decluttering coupled with my slowly growing fine jewelry collection has caused me to put a larger focus on finer pieces that I can wear forever and I’m loving the results.

I have a few pieces that I’d love to add in the future (and have been saving for) but for the time being I love my mini capsule of everyday pieces that include my signet ring from Ruff’s, JACY watch, Stone & Strand small gold hoops (or Mejuri Dome Hoops for a statement) and my Mejuri Bracelet and solitaire diamond necklace.

To complete this look, I’ve been making a few minor tweaks to my makeup routine and discovering some new products that are giving me the perfect winter glow. These products give me a subtly dewy complexion that doesn’t look like I’ve been trapped inside in heating and dry air. Instead, in less than 10 minutes I look fresh faced, awake and hydrated. In no particular order, I love this luxurious, skin healing balm from Radice Apothecary, this Jasmine scented facial spray from May Lindstrom (heaven in a bottle!), this subtle contour stick from Westman Atelier (in lieu of blush - who am I??) and this dewy skin, barely-there base from Beautycounter.

On My Radar No 61

Happy Friday! This week has been a very cold one here in Charleston but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love every second of it. There’s something so satisfying about a cold spell during the holidays and the chilly temps and cozy sweaters have me SO excited. This Christmas Jason and I are traveling quite a bit to be with our families and I’m working overtime to make sure I have everything set and plenty of content filmed, edited and scheduled while we’re gone. Today, I’m spending the day editing my video for Sunday and hopefully doing some Christmas decorating before tucking in for a relaxing evening with “Home Alone” and festive candles. In the meantime, here are a few of the things that have been on my radar this week.

HABITUALLY CHIC HOME TOUR | Habitually Chic is one of my favorite blogs and instagram accounts for home and clothing inspiration and this old tour of Heather Clawson’s home is perfect.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR HOME DECOR MORE PHOTOGENIC | These tips from House Of Brinson about how to make your home decor more photogenic are just what I need as we’re decorating our living room.

DUMBO TRAILER | Live action versions of classic animated films are some of my favorite things - excluding a few unfortunate flops - and the new DUMBO trailer looks like it won’t disappointed. I cried just watching the trailer and can only imagine how heart breaking but also uplifting the actually movie will be.

MARIE ANTIONETTE JEWELS | Marie Antoinette’s jewels - enough said.
