On My Radar No 59

Happy Friday from a misty morning here in Charleston where I’m preparing for a day of filming, editing and working on our living room while Chet Baker plays in the background. There’s something so inspiring about these early fall mornings that keeps me so motivated to be productive, and the excitement of the upcoming holiday season just makes it even better.

In addition to my first fall capsule OOTW video coming this Sunday, I’m excited to share a mock capsule that doesn’t have any black (per your request!), a quick guide to watches and a few of my faves, my sweater guide including where I buy my faves, the materials and cuts I love and a few of my favorite ways to style them and so much more. I’m trying to get better at editing and expedite the process as much as possible so that I can (hopefully) post 3 videos a week a few times this month and next. Right now, since I do all of the editing myself and I’m self taught, it takes me quite a while to get a video ready but I’m slowly but surely getting faster so fingers crossed I can make that happen soon. In the meantime, here are a few of the things that have been on my radar this week.

SESAME KALE PASTA | I am so excited to make this tasty dish this weekend. It takes less than 30 minutes and looks soooo good!

SEPHORA VIB SALE | You know I love beauty products - skincare, makeup and haircare - and this weekend is one of my favorite times to stock up on the essentials that I wear and love and shop for holiday gifts. The Sephora VIB Sale started today for VIB members and offers 20% off your purchases online and in-store until November 12th with the code VIBBONUS. If you aren’t a VIB member though, you can still participate by signing up for Sephora’s Beauty Insider program and you’ll receive 15% off your purchases from November 16-19 with the code BIBONUS.

ANTOINETTE POISSON X GUCCI | Recently, printed and paper and fabric house Antoinette Poisson collaborated with Gucci for a collection of stunning pieces. Unsurprisingly, my favorite is this silk scarf but everything is beautiful.

ORIBE ARTIST PARTNERSHIP |For their holiday gift set packaging, Oribe partnered with Japanese calligraphy artist Aoi Yamaguchi and the results are beautiful.

WINTER COAT EDIT | Timeless Coats For Your Winter Wardrobe

Earlier this week, I shared a great new coat that I recently discovered from Shop The Curated. That discovery, coupled with my own small coat collection that I’ve been building for the last few years got me thinking about what I would look for if I personally needed a new coat this season. So, below, I’ve rounded up some beautiful options in different silhouettes, cuts and colors for you to peruse if you’re in the market for a new coat.

Each of these options suits a variety of climates (some are lined and some aren’t) and they’re all at least part wool - my personal favorite material for a warm winter coat.

As you’re searching though, keep in mind that a full wool or wool and cashmere blend coat that’s lined typically comes with a high price tag and it’s definitely something worth investing more money into.

That said though, don’t hesitate to check sales (if you can wait, you can get some great deals after Christmas and again right before Spring!) and I always recommend checking secondhand and thrift stores both in-person and online.

It’s a great way to get a beautiful piece at a fraction of the traditional price. For example, I got my Brooks Brothers camel coat for under $300 at an end of the season sale!

London Pt 2 | Everlane Cotton Crew & Sabina Savage Scarf

I kept things super comfortable for a day of sightseeing and exploring. To suit the fluctuating temperatures I wore my cozy but cool Everlane cotton crewneck sweater and straight leg black wool pants. This is a combo that I’ve quickly fallen for and can’t wait to wear it on repeat this fall. On this particular day I paired it with my new Superga sneakers that I picked up as a souvenir in London.

For accessories, I wore my crossbody, vintage Louis Vuitton, my Ruff’s Signet Ring (you can see all about it here), Sabina Savage “Hare’s Gift” scarf, Mejuri bracelet and Stone & Strand earrings. After walking around a bit and popping into a few shops, we stopped for lunch at the Black Penny and it was one of the best meals we had!
