Christmas Packing List - 4 Days In Florida, 1 Carry-On

Today's post is another capsule packing guide. To celebrate the holiday Jason and I drove down to Florida so I thought I would share what I packed to help inspire your next packing list.

Below, I've outlined the exact items pictured (with direct links embedded) in case you're interested in any of these classic pieces.

That's everything! Are you headed anywhere fun for the holidays? Let me know in the comments down below. Also, before I go I want to let you know that I will be taking a short break from the blog to celebrate the holidays but you can still follow along over on Instagram and I hope you and yours have a very happy holidays.

Until next time,

Audrey

Easy, Last-Minute Gift Wrapping Hack

It seems like this month has flown by and it's hard to believe that Christmas is only a few days away! If, like me you're traveling this holiday (Jason and I are headed down to Florida to be with my family) then you likely won't be able to wrap your gifts in advance.

So, whether you're worried about your presents making it through security or you like to leave your wrapping to Christmas Eve, I have a super simple (and chic!) wrapping hack to share.

Materials

To begin, you will need gift boxes of any shape, size and color. This year I picked up some gorgeous boxes from Target (I also love these and these) but Michael's craft store also has some fantastic options.

Next, you will need ribbon that coordinates with your boxes - I love this and this also from Target but Michael's has hands down THE BEST ribbon selection so I recommend popping over there.

Finally, you will need a hot glue gun and tissue paper of your choice - I LOVE this one

Instructions

Now for the easy part - assembling it all. I've broken out the steps below for you and once you get the hang of it, you can whip these up in no time.

  1. Cut your ribbon so that it wraps across your box, leaving enough overlap so that you can tuck it around the box edges

  2. Secure the ribbon with a thin line of hot glue

  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 in the other direction so that the two pieces of ribbon overlap

  4. Last but not least, create a small bow with your ribbon (this is a great round-up of different bow styles) and secure it in the center of your ribbon with a dot of hot glue

That's it! Not only is this hack super simple and quick, but the possibilities are endless. For example, last year I did this same thing with red boxes and plaid ribbon. If you give this hack a go, I'd love to see how it turns out so please feel free to tag me in pics on Instagram, DM me or even email me!

Until next time,

Audrey

5 Chic Holiday Outfits You Already Own

It's that time again! The holidays are here and that means loads of Christmas parties to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. From cocktail parties to family get-togethers and Christmas dinner, figuring out what to wear can be both exciting and overwhelming - especially when you also need to worry about last-minute travel, gift wrapping and cooking.

So, to help you shop your closet this holiday season and save yourself from having to run out and get an entirely new outfit (unless you want to of course!) I've put together 5 festive looks that consist of basics you probably already own. Plus, I've repeated a lot of the pieces for each look to show how versatile a basic black skirt, crystal necklace and classic heels can be.

Lovely In Lace

This look is easily one of my favorites and can easily be worn with heels or flats depending on the length of the skirt. Plus, by keeping the sweater, skirt and accessories sleek, you can add tights for some added warmth without the bulk. My only recommendation would be to opt for a slight heel if your skirt comes below the knee to help elongate the whole look.

Everlane Cashmere Sweater (only $100 and the quality is fantastic!), Green Lace Skirt (similar here for under $20), Lace-Up Heels (similar here for under $100 and here for under $60), Crystal Necklace, Simple Crossbody, Festive Lipstick

Mad For Plaid Plaid

This next look is perfect for a more casual affair like a laid-back Christmas dinner at home. What I love most about this outfit is the warm scarf that instantly makes the whole thing feel cozy.

J.Crew Plaid Shirt (similar here under $50), Red Scarf, Ballet FlatsBlack SkirtSimple CrossbodyFestive Lipstick, Crystal Earrings (these are great too and only $32)

Back In Black

If you're headed to a more formal affair you can't go wrong with head-to-toe black. To keep a monochromatic look from feeling too sever, I like to add a great lip color and some stand-out jewelry for a look thats both festive and timeless.

Black Silk ShirtBlack SkirtLace-Up Heels (similar here for under $100 and here for under $60), Crystal NecklaceCrystal EarringsFestive Lipstick

Sleek & Chic

This next look is one of my favorites and one I'll likely wear this year. What I love about it is that it utilizes pants in a way that doesn't feel casual, but is still super comfortable. The simple white top and black pants are the perfect base for a faux fur stole and statement earrings. I've paired it with flats here but you could easily go with heels instead.

Black Pants from Zara, White Peplum TopLace-Up Flats (similar for $60), Faux Fur Stole

Black Tie Optional

The fifth and final look is one that I love for dressy formal affairs. In my accompanying video I styled pieces like these with a textured tank underneath but you could just as easily do velvet or lace for an "of the moment" effect. Also, the BaubleBar earrings pictured are the exact ones I have (except mine are more grey) and they are fantastic! Unfortunately they're sold out now but I've seen them on eBay and Poshmark if you're still interested in snagging this exact pair.

Black Tuxedo Blazer (similar for $40), Grey Pants (Only $20 and really flattering!), Lace-Up Flats (similar for $60) Baublebar Olympia Statement Earrings (sold-out but these are great too), Gold Link Bracelet

Before I go, I'd love to know what you're planning on wearing this holiday season? Do you have any pieces that you love to remix for different events? Let me know in the comments below and happy holidays!

Until next time,

Audrey
