Monday Must-Have: Striped Shirt

Happy Monday! Today's "Must-Have" is none other than my personal kryptonite, the striped shirt. Even though I wear this classic staple year-round, each spring I reach for it even more. Whether I'm pairing it with jeans and blazer, a skirt and sweater or just alone with shorts, I couldn't live without this multi-tasking top. Rather than give in to temptation and snatch up every striped shirt I find, I have practiced self control and only have four. All of them are 100% cotton and can be mixed and matched across all four seasons. My first one pictured above is from Land's End and features a thicker weight and long sleeves perfect for colder weather. Next, I have two three quarter sleeve lighter weight tops (one black and white and one coral and white) from Forever 21. My last striped shirt is from J. Crew and fits the middle ground between the others because it has long sleeves and a medium weight. Below, I have linked my favorite striped shirts on the market now, and have included some of my favorite striped shirt pics to inspire you to pull out the stripes this spring.

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a lovely week filled with spring-time thoughts and warmer weather. This weekend I am looking forward to getting outside and enjoying Central Park again after a long hibernation. Until then, word on the street is....

1. Social media often gets a bad rap but this list is a nice reminder of all the good it can bring when used in a mindful way.

2. I have been looking for a white lace skirt for ages and finally found the perfect one!

3. This round-up of gorgeous coffee shops in Paris has me pining for a trip back to the city of love ASAP.

4. I have never been a huge fan of J. Brand but this exquisite blogger shoot has me dreaming in denim.

5. In case you missed it, this week I shared why ballet flats are a must-have, how I'm styling my new favorite nautical piece, the shoes that are the most comfortable and cute, and my all-white look from Arizona

Until next time, have a great weekend!

Arizona State Of Mind

To say that Arizona is breathtaking would be an understatement. From the moment we landed in the copper state I was blown away by the stunning natural beauty around every corner. From the incredible colors to the magnificent mountain peaks, the landscape is remarkable and I highly recommend a trip if you haven't been.

To compliment the exquisite scenery I wanted to wear something that wouldn't compete with the vivid colors so I opted for all white. My relaxed t and new high rise white jeans were the perfect base for this look and allowed my rich brown and turquoise accessories to shine.

Until next time!

From A New Yorker's Feet: The Most Comfortable (And CUTE!) Shoes

Gucci Horsebit Loafers

Living in New York I walk a TON. While my day-to-day activities in this crazy city can vary, walking is a constant and is often the easiest and fastest way to get from point A to point B. Needless to say, all of this walking means I need shoes that not only go the extra mile, but also look and feel good. Given this necessary evil, over the years I have honed in on some of the most comfortable, durable and cute shoes available on the market. Below, I have outlined these shoes for you and I hope they help you settle in on some for yourself.

Loafers

If I had to pick my most comfortable shoes it would have to be loafers. My favorites are from Gucci and Stubbs & Wootton but I have worn and LOVED some from Bass and Sebago that I can highly recommend. Not only do these shoes go with everything from shorts to pants to skirts, they are incredibly durable, and add the perfect collegiate twist to any look. Plus, they are ridiculously comfortable without looking sloppy and can be worn across all four seasons with or without socks and tights.

Flats

After loafers I wear flats the most. From ballet flats to my slightly heeled Ferragamo flats, I love these shoes for their comfort and ease. I wear them across all four seasons and they effortlessly dress up my basics from day to night without being fussy. As someone who rarely wears heels, I love these multi-tasking shoes for their versatility and often pair them with dresses in lieu of pumps. My go-to's are from Ferragamo, Chanel (major splurge that I saved for for quite a while) and Everlane but I have also tried and adored the Kikis from J. Crew.

Sandals

For sandals, I can't get enough of the classic Jack Rogers. These beauties go with absolutely everything in the spring and summer and last for ages. I have had both of my pairs for going on ten years and they still look brand new.

Ankle Booties & Riding Boots

During the cooler months and early spring I love wearing ankle booties with jeans, trousers and midi skirts. My go-to's for years have been from J. Crew and Cole Haan but I recently discovered a pair from Madewell that I can't stop wearing. The final footwear I rely on to keep me comfortable and cute all day is riding boots. I have waxed poetic about these before and they have to be my favorite part about the cooler months. My favorites are from Ralph Lauren and Ferragamo but I have also had a pair from J. Crew that held up beautifully and looked great with everything.

Until next time!
