Mad For Plaid

Today it finally felt like fall in the city. While the first official day of fall isn't until Wednesday, today ushered in cooler temps that stayed throughout the afternoon along with a few low hung clouds that somehow seemed cozy rather than ominous. The switch in the weather was a welcome change and felt as if mother nature woke up, flipped on a fan and opened a window to cool air settle across her home. Needless to say, this impending sweater weather has left me dreaming of pumpkin pie, apple cider and plaid.

Fall Fashion J Crew Plaid Skirt, Brown Leather Zara Jacket, Chanel Flats, Everlane Round Collar Silk Shirt

This outfit is perfect for transitional weather where it's still a little warm in the afternoon but delightfully crisp in the morning and evenings. I paired this rich brown leather Zara jacket with the white silk round collar shirt from Everlane and the J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in "Blackwatch Plaid" for a no-brainer fall fashion formula.

Effortless Cheese Blintzes with Sour Cherries

Cheese Blintzes with Sour Cherries

I LOVE food. Whether I'm whipping up something at home or eating out, I am always in pursuit of tasty treats and don't feel my day is complete without great meals. The only catch? If I'm cooking at home I don't want to spend hours in the kitchen in order to make the perfect dish, which is why I love these effortless cheese blintzes with sour cherries.

To start, head over to your local Trader Joe's (aka heaven on earth) and pick up a box of their Cheese Blintzes, and a bag of frozen sour cherries in the frozen foods section. When you get home, heat up a saute pan to low heat and spray with your favorite non-stick cooking spray. Place the slightly flawed blintzes in the pan and cook until golden brown on each side (about ten minutes).

While the blintzes cook, thaw your sour cherries until they are warm in the middle. Once the blintzes are cooked and the cheese is slightly bursting out, place them on a serving plate and pour as many cherries as you like on top.

Now sit back and enjoy your incredibly delicious, and effortless treat!

Life Lately

With my wedding less than two months away, I am narrowing in on my makeup essentials. These new items from Chanel are not only gorgeous, but they truly deliver. I could wax poetic about these holy grail items for ages, but will save that for another post.

My scent at the moment is Ex Nihilo Rose Hubris . I discovered this French perfumery while in Paris last year, and the entire range is divine. Being the rose lover that I am, I purchased Rose Hubris which is such a lovely, unoffensive rose scent. It's sophisticated and not too sweet, lasts ages on the skin and instantly transports me back to Paris in the fall.

This lovely little lady is our 1 year old kitty Samantha. We found her abandoned outside of a Target last year, ironically a week before Halloween.

And this, is Jeffrey. We adopted him shortly after we got Samantha so she could have a playmate. I mean, look at that face!
