The Vintage Sweater: Part II

I absolutely love this Ralph Lauren American flag sweater. I last styled it here and here where I discussed how it can easily be worn across all four seasons. As I mentioned in those posts, the lightweight cotton makes this sweater that perfect layering piece so I couldn't wait to pair it with an oxford and shorts last week.

To make this sweater spring appropriate I paired it with other cotton separates that are in heavy rotation in my closet. For a shirt, I wore my go-to striped cotton oxford and white cotton shorts in the perfect length for spring and summer. For an added layer of warmth and to pull out the cognac colors in the bag and loafers, I topped the look with my herringbone blazer in a similar hue. I've mentioned this before, but one of the many benefits of having a streamlined wardrobe is how easy it is to pull together comfortable and stylish looks that I know I can wear all day. I think that this final look is a great example of all these points wrapped into a single look that I'm sure I will wear for years to come.

Until next time!

Spring Blooms

This past Easter the weather in the city was perfect. To hold onto that early spring feeling, I pulled out my favorite shirt, skirt combo and topped it with my go-to J. Crew jean jacket.

One of my favorite ways to stretch a minimal wardrobe is to pair monochromatic separates in ways that look like complete outfits. Case in point is my Everlane silk shirt and Banana Republic silk skirt that when worn with a belt look like a dress. To tie the whole look together I paired the look with my Everlane flats and carried my clutch for a more dressed up look.

If you don't already mix and match your monochrome separates, I think spring is the perfect time to try it out. I think you'll be thrilled with how far you can stretch your high quality pieces that way.

Saturday In The Park

Pale pink is one of my favorite colors so I was thrilled when Pantone announced it as color of the year. This announcement has resulted in countless options popping up in retailers this spring. Needless to say, when I spotted this lovely pale pink top recently in H&M I couldn't resist picking it up. I love how this blouse is soft and feminine while still being classic and I know I'll  get a ton of wear out of it.

To keep the top from feeling stuffy I paired it with my go-to skinny jeans from LOFT and block heel tassel loafers from Clarks. For accessories I wore my vintage Gucci purse with a vintage Ralph Lauren floral silk scarf tied on the handle.

Until next time!

Arizona State Of Mind

To say that Arizona is breathtaking would be an understatement. From the moment we landed in the copper state I was blown away by the stunning natural beauty around every corner. From the incredible colors to the magnificent mountain peaks, the landscape is remarkable and I highly recommend a trip if you haven't been.

To compliment the exquisite scenery I wanted to wear something that wouldn't compete with the vivid colors so I opted for all white. My relaxed t and new high rise white jeans were the perfect base for this look and allowed my rich brown and turquoise accessories to shine.

Until next time!
